The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Championships Meet was completed at Berry College (Ga.) on Saturday following a two-week delay due to track conditions in Baton Rouge. The event was held in conjunction with the NAIA Region XIII Championships with the Spring Hill College Lady Badgers finishing as the conference runners-up and eighth among the 11 regional competitors.
The Lady Badgers finished with an average time of 22:16.87 over the five-kilometer course, scoring 50 points in the conference race and 174 in the regional event.
Xavier University (La.) finished as conference champions at an average of 21:42.68 while Lee University (Tenn.) won the regional title with a time of 20:07.87.
Maggie Meier, a freshman from St. Louis, Mo., finished as the top Spring Hill runner with a time of 21:40.64 for 6th in the GCAC and 27th in Region XIII. The other Top 12 conference finishers for Spring Hill were Blakely Duhé, 22:02.28 (8th), Katie Goodwin, 22:22.57 (10th) and Lizzie Coppejans, 22:33.34 (12th).
Meier, Duhé, and Goodwin were each named to the GCAC All-Conference team following the event.
