BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Spring Hill College women's golf team finished in 8th place out of nine teams at the Ann Rhoads Invitational hosted by Birmingham-Southern College on Sunday and Monday at the Robert Trent Jones at Oxmoor Valley course.
The Badgers shot a two-round total of 731 (367, 364, +155) over the 5802-yard, par 72 course to finish 99 strokes behind the tournament's champion Indiana State University (311, 321, +56).
Individually, Badger junior Avery Kyle of Plano, Texas, put down a total of 164 for a final tally of +20 (81, 83) and an 11th place finish while junior Katie Callahan of Prairie Village, Kan., finished tied for 25th place out of 47 competitors in a +29 score of 173 (86, 87).
Sophomore Rachel Failla of New Orleans, La., carded a +46 (99, 91, 190) to finish in 38th place as junior Audrey Dombrowski of St. Louis, Mo., shot a +60 total of 204 (101, 103) for 42nd place.
Freshman Eva Mareno of Grand Bay, Ala., closed out the Badger scores with a 43rd place score of 214 (111, 103, +70).
The Badger ladies will next tee off at the University of South Alabama Invitational in Mobile on Feb. 25-26.
