NORCROSS, Ga. – Spring Hill College relief pitcher Jack Howard of Decatur, Ga., was named the Southern States Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for the week of February 18-24, 2013, for his performance versus Southern Wesleyan University on Sunday afternoon.

Howard (1-1) entered the game with two outs in the top of the 2nd inning and the Badgers trailing 6-0, but proceeded to hold the Warriors to just one hit over the next 6.1 innings as the Badgers rallied for the 7-6 win in extra innings. For the year, opposing batters are hitting just .114 against Howard who holds a 2.53 ERA in 10.2 innings pitched and has allowed just four hits with six strikeouts.

The Badgers (7-5) will host the University of Mobile (6-8) in a non-conference game at Stan Galle Field on Tuesday beginning at 4 p.m.
