The Spring Hill College Department of Athletics has named Ryan Stevens and Caroline Sagrera as its USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week for their efforts on the courts during the week of February 18-24, 2013.
Stevens, a sophomore catcher from Theodore, Ala., enjoyed an 8-for-12 day versus Southern Wesleyan University on Sunday including three consecutive doubles in the first game. For the season, he is hitting .439 with nine doubles, two homeruns and 11 RBI.
Sagrera, a freshman pitcher from Baton Rouge, La., pitched a no-hitter in just her second collegiate start versus Huntingdon College on Wednesday. She struck out 15 Hawks after walking the first batter of the game on four consecutive pitches. For the season, Sagrera (2-0) holds a 1.0 ERA in 14 innings pitched with 22 strikeouts, four walks and five hits allowed.
In recognition of this honor, each week's winners of USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week award will receive a T-shirt, water bottle and handy gym bag compliments of the University of South Alabama ROTC.
