The Badgers banged out total 25 hits against Judson

MARION, Ala. – The Spring Hill College softball team split a non-conference doubleheader from Judson College on Saturday afternoon winning the first game 9-0 before dropping the back half of the twin bill 4-3.

Freshman Caroline Sagrera (4-0) of Baton Rouge, La., was the winner in Game One with a one-hitter complimented by 10 strikeouts. On offense, the Badgers collected 15 hits and were paced by sophomore Shea Blanchard with a 4-for-4 game with two doubles. Sophomores Jade Bourgeois and Elise deBruler each went 3-for-4 in the opener.

In the second game, sophomore Kathryn Ingles (0-1) took the loss giving up four hits and three runs in the first two innings of play. Sagrera finished the game allowing three hits, but added seven more strikeouts to her totals on the day.

DeBruler was walked three times with a hit by pitch in Game Two while Blanchard and Bourgeois both ripped out two more hits with a double against Eagles (1-5). Senior left fielder Mariha Partman and sophomore centerfielder Taylor Webre had a pair of safeties each in the night cap.

Spring Hill (6-2) will next host Talladega College (3-5) in a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Murray Field.
