THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Spring Hill College baseball team split a non-conference doubleheader at the Thomas University Night Hawks taking the opener in a score of 8-1 before falling 5-4 in 11 innings on Tuesday afternoon.

In the first game, Badger freshman starter Trey Marshall (1-0) went the distance and held the Night Hawks (15-13) to just two hits while sophomore catcher Ryan Stevens blasted a 2-run homer in the 3rd inning.

The Badgers held a 4-1 lead in the bottom of 7th inning until Thomas rallied for three runs against sophomore closer Keller Douglas to send the game into extra innings where the Night Hawks would win four innings later.

The Badgers (10-16, 4-8 SSAC) will next visit the Emmanuel College Lions (11-13, 2-10 SSAC) in Franklin Springs, Ga., for a 3-game conference series beginning with a 5 p.m. single game on Friday followed by a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m. on Saturday.
