FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The Spring Hill College baseball team lost both ends of a conference doubleheader with Emmanuel College at Tommy Carey Field on Friday night by dropping the first game 6-2 and falling in the second contest by a 3-0 outcome.

In the opener, Emmanuel expanded a 1-0 lead after the 1st inning into a 5-0 advantage in the 2nd frame with a 4-run outburst capped by a two-run, two-out double to right field by Lion shortstop Alex Delgado.

Nick Schmiemeier (2-3) took the complete-game loss for Spring Hill with 10 hits allowed 10 hits, two walks and five strikeouts. Right fielder Blake Toscano had two hits and an RBI for the Badgers.

Emmanuel's Blaine Seagraves (3-2) was the winner in six innings with eight hits, two walks and four strikeouts. Delgado collected two doubles and three RBI for the Lions.

In the second game, the Lions scored a run in the 2nd inning when SHC starter Casey Adams uncorked a wild pitch that brought in designated hitter Desmond Harp from third base. Catcher Rudy Alvarez then tacked on a second Lion run in the 7th inning with a two-out RBI-single to center.

Adams (0-4) went the distance for the Badgers with nine hits allowed, a walk and eight strikeouts while third baseman Willie Floros ripped a double to right-center in the 4th inning.

Mark Shevock (2-4) was the winner for EC in a complete-game with five hits, three walks and eight strikeouts as Delgado added two more hits to his day's totals.

The Badgers (10-18, 4-10 SSAC) will finish this 3-game set with the Lions (14-13, 4-10 SSAC) with a single game on Saturday at noon.
