The Spring Hill College softball team lost both ends of a conference doubleheader versus the 7th-ranked Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) Warhawks on Thursday afternoon at Murray Field by the scores of 5-1 and 11-0.

The Warhawks scored three unearned run in the 1st inning off freshman Badger starter Caroline Sagrera (16-3) highlighted by a two-out, two-run double to centerfield by  second baseman Haley Johnson.

AUM (24-1, 4-0 SSAC) added a fourth unearned run in the 2nd inning before SHC could answer with a run-scoring double to the right-center wall in the 3rd inning by sophomore catcher Jade Bourgeois.

Sagrera went the distance in the loss and allowed four hits with three walks and 12 strikeouts, including a stretch where she sat down 16 consecutive batters between the 2nd and 7th innings.

Cassie Daniels (10-0) was the complete-game winner for the Warhawks with three hits, four walks and 10 strikeouts.

In Game Two, senior SHC starter Linsey Dickerson (7-4) surrendered a two-run homerun to AUM third baseman Katie Spain in the 1st inning and lasted just 2.1 innings with six hits, a walk and a strikeout as the Warhawks cruised to a 11-0 victory in five innings.

Taylor Powell (8-0) was the winner in four innings for AUM with just four hits and two walks while striking out seven Badgers.

At the plate, Bourgeois had two hits and an RBI for the Badgers while six Warhawks enjoyed multiple hits in the twin bill led by first baseman Kayla Hale with two hits and six RBI including a Grand Slam in the 4th inning of the nightcap. Leadoff hitter and right fielder Rachel Stuart collected three hits and a stolen base for AUM on the day.

Spring Hill (24-8, 4-5 SSAC West) will next host the Faulkner University Eagles (17-3-1, 3-0-1 SSAC West) in a divisional doubleheader at Murray Field on Friday at 1 p.m.
