The Spring Hill College Department of Athletics has named Hunter Nowak and Taylor Webre as its USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week for their on-field efforts during the week of March 25-31, 2013.
Nowak, a freshman pitcher from Alpharetta, Ga., improved his record to 2-1 on the year with a six-inning victory over Thomas University on Tuesday. He allowed just three hits with three walks and three strikeouts against the Night Hawks. For the season, Nowak holds a 2.86 ERA in 22 innings pitched with 12 strikeouts in five appearances.
Webre, a sophomore centerfielder from Luling, La., was 5-for-15 (.333) in six games this week with two doubles, two runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base. For the season, she is hitting .338 with two homeruns and 13 RBI. She also currently leads the team in walks (18) and sacrifice bunts (7).
In recognition of this honor, each week's winners of USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week award will receive a T-shirt, water bottle and handy gym bag compliments of the University of South Alabama ROTC.
