KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Spring Hill College softball team received 157 votes and moved up one spot to No. 23 in the latest NAIA Coaches Poll released on Tuesday evening.
Six other Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) teams joined SHC in the Top 25 as Lee University remained at No. 4, Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) fell one spot to No. 7, Belhaven University jumped six spots to No. 10, William Carey University fell to No. 12, Brenau University dropped two spots to No. 16 and the University at Mobile fell out of the poll to an unofficial No. 26 position.
The Badgers added 46 votes to last week's total of 111.
The NAIA poll is voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences, independent and unaffiliated groupings.
Spring Hill (29-9, 9-6 SSAC West) will begin at road swing through Georgia this weekend before returning home for Senior Day 2013 with a non-conference doubleheader versus Judson College on Wednesday, April 17, at 1 p.m.
