The 22nd-ranked Spring Hill College softball team swept a non-conference doubleheader from the Judson College Eagles on Wednesday afternoon at Murray Field by the scores of 10-3 in the opener and 8-0 in five innings in the second game.
Freshman Sarah Bolotte (2-0) earned the first two wins of her career by coming into the first game to start the 4th inning and then going the distance in the second game. In the opener, Bolotte allowed two hits with a walk and two strikeouts in four innings while she allowed just one hit with no walks and a strikeout in the nightcap.
For the SHC offense, six Badgers enjoyed multiple hits afternoons led by first baseman Elise deBruler with three hits and two RBI, third baseman Mariha Partman with three hits and an RBI and centerfielder Taylor Webre with two hits and three RBI. Shortstop Shea Blanchard added a double and an RBI in the day's first contest.
Judson (12-18) was led by left fielder Tyler Jackson with two hits in the first game while catcher Teryn Dennis collected an RBI off a sacrifice fly in Game One and the Eagles' lone single in Game Two.
Spring Hill (33-9, 11-6 SSAC West) will wrap up the 2013 home schedule by hosting the University of Mobile (23-16, 8-10 SSAC West) at Murray Field on Saturday at noon.
