The 22nd-ranked Spring Hill College softball team swept both ends of conference doubleheader from the University of Mobile Lady Rams by the scores of 3-0 and 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at Murray Field.

Freshman Badger starter Caroline Sagrera (25-3) shut out the Lady Rams on four hits in a complete-game effort to start the day, fanning eight and walking only one.

Kamaron Strickland took the loss after giving up three runs on nine hits in six innings of action.

The Badgers struck first when sophomore centerfielder Taylor Webre reached on an infield single in the 2nd inning, moved up on a sacrifice bunt and then scored on freshman designated player Taylor Lahasky's single and an obstruction call.

Spring Hill tacked on two more in the 4th inning and Mobile stranded seven runners over the final four innings, including two each in the final three frames.

Ashley Middleton had two hits for Mobile (23-18, 8-12 SSAC West) while Webre and Lahasky each had a pair of hits for the Badgers.

In the finale, Sagrera limited Mobile to one run on five hits with five strikeouts and no walks in eight innings of work. Alli Hall took the loss after giving up two runs on six hits in 7.1 innings of work.

Mobile scored first in Game Two as Brittany Dunson led off with a double, took third on a sacrifice and then scored on a hit from Korie Fontenot.

Hall made that hold up through five innings as she allowed only two hits, but the Badgers tied it up in the 6th inning with a run on two hits after a walk and hit batsman started the frame. Sophomore catcher Jade Bourgeois then singled home the tying run.

After Mobile failed to score in the 8th inning, the Badgers got a leadoff hit from Bourgeois that was followed by a wild pitch and a walk-off double from senior left fielder Katelyn Hinson to win it.

Spring Hill (35-9, 13-6 SSAC West) will next travel to Faulkner University (19-21-1, 5-16-1 SSAC West) in Montgomery for an SSAC doubleheader on Tuesday beginning at 5 p.m.
