JACKSON, Miss. – The 15th-ranked Spring Hill College softball team closed out the 2013 regular season with two SSAC loses to the 11th-ranked Belhaven University Lady Blazers by falling in the opening game 3-2 and dropping the nightcap by a 5-2 score in eight innings on Friday afternoon.

Lady Blazers (31-9, 17-7 SSAC West) used a three-run homerun by Denee' Crawford in the bottom of the 3rd inning to win the opener and then scored the game-tying run with two outs in the bottom of the 7th inning to send the game to extra innings where they won with another 3-run homerun by Crawford in the 8th frame.

SHC freshman starter Caroline Sagrera (28-6) took complete-game losses in both ends of the twin bill.

Spring Hill (38-12, 16-9 SSAC West) will next play in the 2013 Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Championship Tournament at South Commons Softball Complex in Columbus, Ga., versus a yet to be determined opponent beginning on Tuesday.
