The Spring Hill College baseball team lost both ends of a conference doubleheader at the University of Mobile Rams by the scores of 11-7 and 4-2 at Mike Jacobs Field on Friday afternoon.
In the opener, the Rams scored seven runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to rally for the win while in the nightcap Mobile scored single runs in the 6th, 7th and 8th innings to overcome a late 2-1 Badger lead.
Keller Douglas (3-2) took the loss in relief of Game One while starter Casey Adams went 5.1 innings with eight hits, four walks and two strikeouts. Sophomore centerfielder Andy Robbins had two hits in the first game as did junior second baseman Brian Sims and sophomore designated hitter Cyrus Beermann. Sophomore catcher Ryan Stevens added an RBI double to the Badger cause.
Senior starter Daniel Pitfield (2-2) took the loss in the nightcap with 6.1 innings of work, six hits, two walks and three strikeouts. Stevens collected a hit and a run-driven-in at the plate.
The Badgers (20-29, 10-19 SSAC) will close out the 2013 season with a conference game at the University of Mobile (33-19, 16-13 SSAC) on Saturday at 1 p.m.
