COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Spring Hill College softball team collected 15 postseason awards from the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) as chosen by the head coaches of the 13 member institutions on Wednesday highlighted by freshman Caroline Sagrera who won 2013 SSAC Pitcher of the Year and Freshman of the Year awards.

Sagrera (29-6), a native of Baton Rouge, La., has struck out an NAIA-leading 354 batters in 238 innings pitched and holds a 1.29 ERA while allowing just 120 hits and 59 walks. At the plate, she collected 15 hits with seven RBI. She was also name to SSAC All-West Division and All-Freshmen teams.

Sophomore catcher Jade Bourgeois of Geismer, La., was named to the All-Conference and All-West Division teams while also earning the conference's Infield Gold Glove. She led the Badgers with a .410 batting average, 21 doubles and 31 RBI. Bourgeois also hit two homeruns, was successful in all eight of her stolen base attempts and cut down eight attempted base-stealers from behind the plate. She committed just two errors in 420 fielding chances and allowed only six passed balls in 51 games started.

Senior third baseman Mariha Partman of Biloxi, Miss., earned a spot on the SSAC All-West Division Team with a Badger-leading eight homeruns and 15 stolen bases. She is hitting .321 with 22 RBI and fielded the 'hot corner' at a .867 percentage after moving from left field in the first week of the season.

Sophomore right fielder Shea Blanchard of Breaux Bridge, La., was the SHC representative on the 2013 Musco Lighting-SSAC Champions of Character Team.

Six Badgers won 2013 SSAC All-Academic Team recognition with Blanchard, Bourgeois, sophomore first baseman Elise deBruler from Luling, La., senior pitcher Linsey Dickerson of Hurley, Miss., junior second baseman Raleigh Downs of Booneville, Miss., and sophomore centerfielder Taylor Webre of Luling each garnering the praises.
