LOUISVILLE, Ky. – On Thursday, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) named Spring Hill College pitcher Caroline Sagrera and catcher Jade Bourgeois  to its 2013 NAIA All-East Region Team.

Sagrera, a freshman from Baton Rouge, La., was the 2013 Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Pitcher and Freshman of the Year with a 39-11 overall record and a 1.47 ERA over 344 innings pitched. She led the nation with a school-record 482 strikeouts and recorded a school-record 18 shutouts including a no-hitter in just her second collegiate start.

Bourgeois, an All-Conference sophomore from Geismer, La., started all 66 games for Spring Hill this season and led the Badgers with a .389 batting average. Bourgeois recorded a school-record 24 doubles while tallying three homeruns and 36 RBI. Behind the plate, she cut down 12 of 50 stolen base attempts and won the 2013 SSAC Infield Gold Glove.

Both players will now be submitted for consideration to the NFCA's All-America Team, which is expected to be released within the next few days.
