Spring Hill College head baseball coach Frank Sims announced the signing of left-handed pitcher Brady Hitt from Delgado Community College and St. Charles Catholic High School in Louisiana on Tuesday afternoon.
A native of LaPlace, La., Hitt compiled a 5-3 record in his two years at Delgado with 20 overall appearances under head coach Joe Scheuermann.
"Brady is a great addition to our pitching staff," said Sims. "Coming from a great program like Delgado, we will feel confident that we can put Brady into any situation because he is an experienced competitor."
Hitt will provide the Badgers with a valuable left-handed starting pitcher, but Sims also believes the transfer will have a chance to earn an everyday role in the lineup. While at St. Charles Catholic under head coach Paul Waguespack, he hit .540 with 56 RBI and 14 home runs while earning All-District and District MVP honors along with a spot on the All-State roster.
"His left-handed hitting ability will provide an RBI presence in our lineup, especially with the short porch in right field at Stan Galle Field," Sims said.
