The Spring Hill College men's soccer team took a 4-0 victory over non-conference foe Wiley College on Sunday afternoon at Library Field in final match of the Classic on the Hill Tournament.

The Badgers broke the scoring ice in the 5th minute of play when junior Salvador Sanchis of Miami, Fla., rose from the pack to head in a corner kick from junior Arturo Garcia from Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Garcia later ripped a shot from the top of the box in the 32nd minute to make it a 2-0 Badger lead heading into the halftime intermission.

Junior Tyler Hartlage of Tampa, Fla., then cleaned up a loose ball following another SHC corner kick in the 49th minute to stretch the Badger advantage out to 3-0.

Junior Mario Escalante of Santa Cruz, Bolivia, added the final nail in the 89th minute off Garcia's second assist and fourth point of the afternoon.

Sophomore Badger goalkeeper Jacob Files (2-0) of Clinton, Miss., collected three saves in the win while his counterpart Cesar Ponce (1-1) also made three saves for Wiley College.

The Wildcats (1-1) from Texas outshot the Badgers 12-11, but hurt their own cause with 17 fouls and five yellow card warnings. SHC took six corner kick opportunities and Wiley took four attempts from the corners.

Spring Hill (2-0) will next host Thomas University (1-1) on Saturday at 5 p.m. in a non-conference match at Library Field.
