The Spring Hill College Department of Athletics has named soccer players Salvador Sanchis and Darby Rasch as its USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week for their achievements on the field during the week of September 2-8, 2013.
Sanchis, a junior midfielder from Miami, Fla., scored the game-winning goal in the Badgers 1-0 home victory over Delta State University with a header off a corner kick in the 57th minute of Friday's match. So far this season, he has scored two goals with two assists for six total points.
Rasch, a freshman from Madison, Ala., had a hat trick in a 9-0 win over Judson College (Ala.) on Sunday afternoon. She scored three of the first four goals of the game and is currently tied for the team lead in goals scored on the season with nine tallies in just five matches.
In recognition of this honor, each week's winners of USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week award will receive a T-shirt, water bottle and handy gym bag compliments of the University of South Alabama ROTC.
