The Spring Hill College Lady Badgers soccer team snapped William Carey University's 15-game win streak with 3-3 tie in Hattiesburg, Miss., on Tuesday night.
Forward Kasey Pruett scored a goal off assists by Megan Wientge and Jennifer Huber just 2:45 into the match, but WCU answered at the 17th minute with a goal by Natalia Nino.
Junior Lynsey Winkler scored a goal just before halftime to give the visiting Badgers a 2-1 lead at the break. William Carey's Shannon Steffen tied the game a mere three minutes into the second half, but Maureen Sargent of Spring Hill reclaimed a Badger lead just 30 seconds later.
SHC held the lead until the 80th minute when Linda Garcia forced in a tying goal.
Goalkeeper Shannon Netherby made nine saves against 29 William Carey shots.
The Spring Hill women (9-6-2, 3-2-2) next play Belhaven in a conference match at Library Field on the Spring Hill campus for Senior Day at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
