PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Spring Hill College men's cross country team finished with a 9th place finish out of 10 teams at the Gulf Coast Stampede hosted by West Florida University at the Escambia Co. Equestrian Center on Saturday morning.
The Badgers collected 206 combined points and ran a total team time of 2:24:16.20 with an average time of 28:51.24 over the 8,000-meter course.
Sophomore Jordan Travis of Poplarville, Miss., ran the 22nd best 8k time in SHC history in 27:55.90 for a 29th place finish out of 100 runners.
Next across the line for the Badgers was junior John Russell of Cullman, Ala., who notched a time of 28:30.60 for 45th place while sophomore Patrick Lameka of Chicago, Ill., was the third Badger to cross the line with a mark of 29:06.10 and 54th place.
Freshman Alex Vaporciyan from Houston, Texas, ran a time of 29:18.20 for 57th place while sophomore Phillip Travis of Poplarville came in at 29:25.40 for 61st place and sophomore Brennan McLean of Baton Rouge, La., placed 67th in a time of 29:49.20. Junior Conner Kirkikis of Kenner, La., was 71st in 30:09.20 while freshman Seamus Russell of Cullman came in with an 74th place finish in 30:22.50.
Freshman Andrew Pettus of New Orleans, La., made his collegiate debut with a time of 31:07.30 for 83rd position and sophomore Conner Bueche of Baton Rouge rounded out the Badger runners in 88th place at 32:16.80.
Spring Hill next runs on Friday, October 4, at Watson Ford Invitational hosted by Mississippi College at Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Miss., beginning at 4:45 p.m.
