No. 3 SPSU comes to Library Field on Friday

HOUSTON, Texas – The Spring Hill College men's soccer team closed out the non-conference portion of the 2013 schedule with a 1-0 loss at the University of St. Thomas Celts at the Houston Amateur Sports Park on Saturday night.

The Celts (3-2-1) scored the lone goal of the contest in the 27th minute of play when Paulo Sacramento found Karim Abbista open for a shot that got past SHC goalkeeper sophomore Jacob Files of Clinton, Miss.

Files made eight saves against 13 shots on the night while his counterpart Jason Taffet of UST made two saves against nine shots. At the corners, the Celts had five attempts while SHC made three attempts.

The Badger (3-3) will next open conference play on Friday at 4 p.m. on Library Field versus the 3rd-ranked Southern Polytechnic State University Hornets (4-0-1) beginning at 4 p.m.
