CENTRAL, S.C. – The Spring Hill College men's soccer team lost heartbreaking 1-0 two-overtime decision to Southern Wesleyan University in a road Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) match on Friday evening.
The Warriors (4-3-1, 1-2 SSAC) scored in the 107th minute of play when Juan Agudelo deflected a shot in the goal past SHC keeper sophomore Jacob Files.
Files made 10 saves against 23 SWU shots on the night while his across the field counterpart Ruben Rodriguez of SWU made six saves against 134 Badger shots.
The physical contest saw 32 total fouls whistled and seven cards issued to both squads. SHC took two corner kicks and SWU attempted four kicks from the corners.
Spring Hill fell to 4-5 overall and 1-2 in SSAC play and now travel overnight to Franklin Springs, Ga., for a Saturday match with the Emmanuel College Lions (6-2, 1-2 SSAC) beginning at 6:30 p.m.
