CLINTON, Miss. – The Spring Hill College women's cross country team finished in 8th position out of 11 teams at the annual Watson Ford Invitational hosted by Mississippi College at Choctaw Trails on Friday evening.
As a team, the Badgers scored 192 points and ran a total time of 2:24:36.24 in an average time of 28:55.25 over the 6-kilometer course.
Individually, senior Emily Dolan from McGill-Toolen Catholic High School in Mobile placed 16th out of 83 runners in the 5th best Spring Hill women's 6-kilomter time ever at 26:07.94. Her sister sophomore Katie Dolan also from McGill-Toolen ran the school's 9th best time in 26:51.54 time for 26th place.
Senior Claire Stewart from Mt. Juliet, Tenn., came in at 47th place in a time of 28:42.79 while fellow senior Anna DeWine of Cedarville, Ohio, posted a time of 30:08.97 for 56th place.
Freshman Holly Gibbens of Hendersonville, Tenn., notched a time of 32:45.00 for 64th place while freshman Amie Gilbert of Baton Rouge, La., recorded an effort of 33:25.33 for 66th place. Freshman Alexis Mogil of Oxford, Ala., rounded out the Badger runners with a mark of 40:04.29 and 78th place.
Spring Hill next runs on Saturday, October 12, at the Montevallo Falcon Classic in Montevallo, Ala., beginning at 8 a.m.
