The Spring Hill College Department of Athletics has named Wesley Hunter and Sidi Genus as its USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week for their achievements during the week of September 30-October 6, 2013.
Hunter, a freshman on the men's golf team from St. Luke's Episcopal School in Mobile, shot a 2-under par score of 142 (72, 70) over two rounds of the annual Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational at Stonebridge Golf Club in Rome, Ga., in just his second collegiate appearance. He finished the tournament tied for second place out of 141 total golfers.
Genus, a sophomore women's soccer forward from Great Bay, Jamaica, scored the Badgers' first two goals in a 5-2 conference win at Belhaven University on Wednesday. So far this season, she has started all 13 matches played by Spring Hill and scored eight goals with four assists for 20 total points.
In recognition of this honor, each week's winners of USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week award will receive a T-shirt, water bottle and handy gym bag compliments of the University of South Alabama ROTC.
