MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Spring Hill College men's cross country team finished in 3rd place out of 7 teams at the Montevallo Falcon Classic hosted by the University of Montevallo on Saturday morning.
In total, the Badgers collected 80 points and ran a total team time of 2:28:38.37 with an average time of 29:43.68 over the 8,000-meter course.
Top Badger finisher junior John Russell of Cullman, Ala., recorded a time of 28:43.90 for 6th place out of 49 runners while sophomore Jordan Travis of Poplarville, Miss., ran the course in 28:54.06 for a 9th place finish and sophomore Patrick Lameka of Chicago, Ill., was the third Badger to cross the line with a mark of 29:27.21 and 14th place overall.
Freshman Seamus Russell of Cullman came in with a 24th place finish in 30:37.77. Junior Conner Kirkikis of Kenner, La., was 27th in 30:55.43 while sophomore Phillip Travis of Poplarville rounded out the Badger scorers with a time of 31:34.55 for 34th place.
Sophomore Brennan McLean of Baton Rouge, La., placed 36th in a time of 31:50.05 and freshman Brennan Sigue of Lafayette, La., was in 41st place in 34:47.38.
Spring Hill next runs on Saturday, October 19, at the Mississippi College Choctaw Open at Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Miss., beginning at 9:15 a.m.
