CLINTON, Miss. – The Spring Hill College women's cross country team tuned up for the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Championships by running in 6th place out of 9 teams at the annual Choctaw Open hosted by Mississippi College at Choctaw Trails on Saturday morning.
As a team, the Badgers scored 149 points and ran a total time of 1:49:38.56 in an average time of 21:55.72 over the 5-kilometer course.
Individually, senior Emily Dolan from McGill-Toolen Catholic High School in Mobile placed 12th out of 72 runners at 20:11.75. The next six Badger Finishers all set career personal best times led by senior Anna DeWine of Cedarville, Ohio, who finished in 21:04.48 for 28th place.
Sophomore Katie Dolan also from McGill-Toolen ran a mark of 21:09.17 for 30th place while senior Claire Stewart from Mt. Juliet, Tenn., came in at 52nd place in a time of 22:32.65 and freshman Amie Gilbert of Baton Rouge, La., closed out the Badger scorers with a time of 24:40.51 for 59th place.
Freshman Holly Gibbens of Hendersonville, Tenn., notched a time of 25:20.55 for 61st place and freshman Alexis Mogil of Oxford, Ala., rounded out the Spring Hill side in a time of 28:55.20.
Spring Hill next runs on Saturday, November 9, at the 2013 SSAC Championships at Choctaw Trails beginning at 8 a.m.
