MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Spring Hill College men's soccer team took a 2-1 Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) win over the Faulkner University Eagles on Saturday evening on John Mark Stallings Field at the Dalraida Soccer Complex.
Spring Hill took a 1-0 lead on the Eagles (3-9-1, 2-5 SSAC) into the locker room at halftime, but Faulkner answered quickly in the second half with a score in the 48th minute to tie the game at 1-1.
The Badgers took a 2-1 lead with 22:27 left on the clock and held on for the win to keep their hopes for a slot in the SSAC Tournament alive.
SHC sophomore goalkeeper Jacob Files of Clinton, Miss., earned his sixth victory of the year.
The Badgers (6-8, 3-5 SSAC) will next travel 11 miles up Interstate 65 on Saturday to face archrivals the University of Mobile Rams (7-6, 4-4 SSAC) at the UMobile Soccer Field beginning at 7:30 p.m.
