The Spring Hill College Department of Athletics has named Dylan Gardner and Emily Dolan as its USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week for their achievements during the week of October 14-20, 2013.
Gardner, a junior defender on the men's soccer team from Waterloo, Ill., scored the first Badger goal and assisted on the second score in a 2-1 SHC victory at Faulkner University on Saturday night. In his three-year career, Gardner now has three goals and three assists in 47 starts.
Dolan, a senior on the women's cross country team from McGill-Toolen Catholic High School in Mobile, finished 12th of 72 runners at 2013 Choctaw Open hosted by Mississippi College in Clinton, Miss., on Saturday morning. She completed the 5-kilometer course in 20:11.75. In Dolan's four years as an SHC runner, she has scored in all 22 regular season meets in which she has participated.
In recognition of this honor, each week's winners of USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week award will receive a T-shirt, water bottle and handy gym bag compliments of the University of South Alabama ROTC.
