The Spring Hill College women's soccer team lost a 2-1 decision in overtime to the University of Mobile Lady Rams in a Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) contest at the UMobile Soccer Field on Saturday evening.
Spring Hill opened the scoring in the 12th minute of play when Aedan Stranahan lifted a free kick under the crossbar from 25 yards out.
Mobile (9-6-1, 7-2 SSAC), however, tied the game in the 73rd minute when Tyler-Rae Molloy's pass in front of the goal found Katie Compton who drilled a goal in the top of the net from the top of the box.
The overtime lasted just 49 seconds as Molloy ended the game by dribbling into the box and scoring a left-to-right crossing shot inside the far post.
Spring Hill goalkeeper Abby Massengale made four saves against 14 shots by the Rams as Gillian McMahon had no saves in the face of five SHC shots. Mobile took 13 corner kicks to just three attempts by the Badgers.
The Badgers (10-6, 5-4 SSAC) will host 12th ranked Martin Methodist College (11-3-1, 7-2 SSAC) in a conference match at Library Field on Friday at 1 p.m.
