The Spring Hill College men's soccer team saw the University of Mobile Rams stretch a late 1-0 lead into a 3-0 victory in a Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) contest at UMobile Soccer Field on Saturday night.
The Rams (8-6, 5-4 SSAC) first scored in the 29th minute when Pierre Mangold drove a low strike inside near post.
Spring Hill had a chance tie the game in the 34th minute, but senior Nick Link failed to convert on a penalty kick for the first time out of six career attempts when UM goalkeeper Xavier Audergon made a diving punch-away to his right side.
Mobile later added two goals within a minute of each other in the 81st and 82nd minutes when Naissim Ayadi's pass found Mangold for a goal followed by a Noel Johnson tally assisted by Gunnar Steindorsson.
Sophomore SHC goalkeeper Jacob Files made four saves against 19 Mobile shots while Xavier Audergon made five saves versus 13 shots by the Badgers. Each team took six corner kick attempts.
The Badgers (6-9, 3-6 SSAC) will next host the 17th-ranked Martin Methodist College RedHawks (9-3-1, 6-2-1 SSAC) at Library Field on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
