Three Spring Hill College volleyball players have reached personal milestones during the 2013 season. Middle hitter Sha Sha Buchanan passed the 1,100 career kills mark on October 1 while outside hitter Megan Haber passed 1,000 kills on October 25 and setter Taryn Nash reach 5,000 assists on October 26.
A senior out of McGill-Toolen Catholic High School in Mobile, Buchanan passed the 1,100 kills mark in a 3-0 home win over rival the University of Mobile and currently holds 1198 kills with 443 total blocks, 283 digs, 108 aces and 71 assists in her career. She is hitting .341 in her four-year career.
Haber, a junior from Lillian, Ala., reached 1,000 kills during a 3-0 road win over Tougaloo College on Friday night. She has amassed 1,014 kills with 328 total blocks, 134 digs, 122 assists and eight services aces in 368 sets played. Haber holds a .345 career attack percentage.
A four-year starter from Independence, Mo., Nash earned her 5,000th assist in a 3-0 sweep of Belhaven University in Jackson, Miss., on Saturday night with a set to freshman outside hitter Molly Griffin of Westlake Village, Calif. In her career, Nash now stands at 5001 assists, 1,049 digs, 290 kills, 145 total blocks, and 118 service aces. She holds a .352 attack percentage in 472 career sets played.
Spring Hill (28-3, 12-0 SSAC) will play at the University of Mobile on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in Pharr Gymnasium with sole possession of the SSAC regular season title on the line.
