Senior defender Molly Cowley and redshirt sophomore forward Courtney Harlan of Spring Hill College were selected as members of the Capital One Academic All-District® Team in Women's Soccer for District 1 (College Division) as announced by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) on Thursday afternoon.
A native of Jefferson City, Mo., Cowley majors in Elementary Education and has twice been named to the Southern States Athletic Conference All-Academic Team. She also earned recognition in 2012 as a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete. Cowley has played in 51 matches for the Badgers in four seasons at Spring Hill and scored seven goals with 10 assists for 24 points in her career.
Hailing from McGill-Toolen Catholic High School in Mobile, Harlan is a Management Accounting major who has scored 24 goals with 19 assists in 33 games with Badgers for 67 total points.
The Capital One Academic All-District Award® recognizes athletes holding a career GPA of 3.3 or higher while at the same time making significant on-field contributions to their team.
With selection to the All-District Team, both Cowley and Harlan are now automatically moved into nomination for the Capital One Academic All-America Award® as voted upon by the CoSIDA membership.
