The Spring Hill College men's soccer team ended the 2013 season with a 1-0 conference loss to the Bethel University Wildcats at Library Field on Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats (10-5-1, 5-5-1 SSAC) scored off an unassisted goal by Antonio Pereira from 18 yards out at the top of the box in the 13th minute of play and then successfully held off numerous Badger scoring threats including a shot off the left goal post by Esteban Angel in the 85th minute and a last second shot by Andrew McInnis that was just wide.
SHC goalkeeper Jacob Files made five saves against 13 shots by the Wildcats while Luke Edgecombe of Bethel collected eight saves versus 16 shots by the Badgers. Bethel took five corner kicks and SHC took four corner attempts.
The Badgers finished the season with a 6-11 overall record and a 3-8 mark in SSAC play.
