Junior Megan Haber earned Capital One Academic All-District® recognition

Senior setter Taryn Nash and junior outside hitter Megan Haber of Spring Hill College were selected as members of the Capital One Academic All-District® Team in Volleyball for District 1 (College Division) as announced by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) on Thursday afternoon.

A native of Independence, Mo., Nash majors in International Studies and was a 2nd team member the Capital One Academic All-America® Team as a junior in 2012. She is a two-time honorable mention member of the Tachikara-NAIA All-America Team and the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) All-Academic Team along with appearing on the 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete team. Nash has played in 481 sets for the Badgers in four seasons at Spring Hill and has handed out 5120 assists with 297 kills, 1069 digs, 119 aces and 147 total blocks.

Haber, from Lillian, Ala., majors in Accounting and was an honorable mention member of the 2012 Tachikara-NAIA All-America Team as well as the 2012 SSAC All-Conference and All-Academic teams. She has played in 377 sets with 1054 kills for a career attack percentage of .348. Haber also owns 338 total blocks, 125 assists and 137 digs.

The Capital One Academic All-District Award® recognizes athletes holding a career GPA of 3.3 or higher while at the same time making significant on-field contributions to their team.

With selection to the All-District Team, both Nash and Haber are now automatically moved into nomination for the Capital One Academic All-America Award® as voted upon by the CoSIDA membership.
