MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Spring Hill College volleyball head coach Dr. Peggy Martin was named the 2013 Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Coach of Year at the conference's annual awards banquet on Thursday night on the campus of Faulkner University. Martin directed the Badgers to a 31-3 overall record in the 2013 regular season and their third consecutive undefeated conference record at 14-0.
Under Martin's tutelage, Spring Hill has earned a 138-34 overall record including a conference mark of 51-8 in five seasons. The Badgers have advanced to two NAIA National Championship Tournament appearances in her tenure and also secured a spot in the 2013 Tournament by way of their regular season championship.
Spring Hill currently owns the 9th longest conference regular season win streak in NAIA history with a run of 46 victories dating back to the second SSAC match of the 2010 season.
The Badgers will face Southern Wesleyan University in the SSAC Championship Tournament Semifinals at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the Multiplex Building at the Cramton Bowl.
