MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The top-seeded Spring Hill College volleyball team took a 3-0 (25-18; 25-20; 25-22) victory over 3rd seeded Southern Wesleyan University in the semifinal round of the 2013 Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Championship Tournament at the Multiplex Building at the Cramton Bowl on Saturday morning. The victory moved the Badgers into the Championship match for the fourth consecutive season where they will attempt to win the title for the first time since joining the conference in 2010.
Spring Hill was led on offense by junior outside hitter Megan Haber with 16 kills and senior middle hitter Sha Sha Buchanan with 12 kills. Senior setter Taryn Nash had 47 assists with two aces, 10 digs and two total blocks.
The Badgers hit for .417 (52-9-103) with five aces, nine blocks and 47 total digs.
Spring Hill (34-3) expanded its current winning streak to 26 matches with the decision and will play for the championship at 4:30 p.m. versus the winner of the Mobile-Coastal Georgia semifinal match.
