CLINTON, Miss. – The Spring Hill College women's cross country team closed out the 2013 season with 7th place finish out of 12 teams at the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Championships at Choctaw Trails on Saturday morning.
As a team, the Badgers scored 215 points and ran a total time of 1:48:08.47 in an average time of 21:37.70 over the 5-kilometer course.
Individually, senior Emily Dolan from McGill-Toolen Catholic High School in Mobile placed 22nd out of 101 runners at 20:00.29. Senior Anna DeWine of Cedarville, Ohio, who finished in 20:22.22 for 29th place and a personal career best time.
Sophomore Katie Dolan also from McGill-Toolen ran a mark of 20:40.25 for 37th place while senior Claire Stewart from Mt. Juliet, Tenn., came in at 60th place in a time of 22:06.63 and freshman Holly Gibbens of Hendersonville, Tenn., notched a time of 24:59.08 for 90th place. Freshman Amie Gilbert of Baton Rouge, La., closed out the Badger competitors with a time of 25:19.61 for 94th place.
Before the meet, Emily Dolan was named as the SHC representative to the 2013 Musco Lighting-SSAC Champions of Character Team.
