LAFAYETTE, La. – The Spring Hill College women's bowling team finished in 1st place out of five teams on Saturday at the Southwest Intercollegiate Bowling Conference (SWIBC) II Tournament on Saturday at Lafayette Lanes for the first-year program's historic first tournament victory.
The Badgers rolled a combined score of 7,057 pins over eight rounds to finish 98 pins above second place finisher West Texas A&M.
Freshman Miranda Singer of Columbus, Ohio, won the individual title over the field of 31 bowlers with a 190.60 pin average for a 953 total while Darian Miller from Slidell, La., totaled 826 pins (165.20) for 6th position.
Jessica Temple of LaSalle, Ill., knocked down 803 pins for an average of 160.60 and 7th place as Rebekah Cowan of Allen, Texas, tallied 795 pins for a 159.00 pin average and 8th place overall.
Stephanie Latuso of Mobile closed out the Badger scores with 647 pins for an average of 129.40 for 15th place.
SHC will next host the 1st annual Badger Classic at Skyline Lanes in Mobile on Saturday and Sunday.
