MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Spring Hill College men's and women's soccer teams collected three honors at the 2013 Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Awards Banquet on Wednesday night on the campus of Faulkner University. The women's soccer team claimed two individual awards with the men's team adding one more award.
Sophomore forward Courtney Harlan from McGill-Toolen Catholic High School in Mobile earned 2nd team SSAC All-Conference recognition in a season in which she scored 12 goals and 11 assists for 35 total points. In her two seasons with the Badgers, Harlan has now scored 24 goals with 19 assists for 67 total points in 36 matches.
Senior defender Molly Cowley of Jefferson City, Mo., was named as the women's soccer team's representative on the 2013 Musco Lighting-SSAC Champions of Character Team. In her three-year career at SHC, Cowley played in 52 matches with seven goals and 10 assists for 24 points. This season she returned to the starting lineup after suffering a season-ending knee injury just days before the start of her junior campaign in 2012.
Junior Sam Keiser of Athens, Ala., also was named as the men's soccer team's representative on the 2013 Musco Lighting-SSAC Champions of Character Team. In his three seasons at Spring Hill, Keiser has appeared in 21 matches as a defenseman.
