MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College Department of Athletics has named basketball players Jarrett Calhoun and Bethany Collins as its USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week for their efforts on the court during the week of November 11-17, 2013.
Calhoun, a sophomore guard from Linden, N.J., paced the Badgers in scoring twice this week with 15 points versus Southern Wesleyan and 13 points against Emmanuel College. So far in the 2013-14 season, Calhoun has scored 10.5 points with 2.3 rebounds per game for Spring Hill after transferring to The Hill from Troy University. He is shooting at 44.8% (13-29) from the floor with five 3-point buckets.
Collins, a junior guard from Apex, N.C., was the leading scoring for the Badgers in both of their games this past week. She scored 20 points at Southern Wesleyan and 13 points at Emmanuel College. For the year, she averaging 13.8 points and 2.8 rebounds per game while shooting 35.9% (14-39) from the field.
In recognition of this honor, each week's winners of USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week award will receive a T-shirt, water bottle and handy gym bag compliments of the University of South Alabama ROTC.
