KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced on Thursday morning that the Spring Hill College women's soccer team was named a winner of 2012-2013 NSCAA Team Academic Award.

The NSCAA annually recognizes college soccer programs that have excelled in the classroom in addition to their work on the field. For the Badger ladies, this year marks the second consecutive season and the fourth time in six years that they have earned the honor.

Head coach Christian DeVries' team recorded a 3.24 team grade point average on a 4-point scale during the 2012-13 academic year.

A total of 593 college women's soccer teams in all classifications posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2012-13 academic year.
