The Spring Hill College Department of Athletics has named basketball players Robert Drummond and Sha Sha Buchanan as its USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week for their efforts on the hardwoods during the week of December 9-15, 2013.
Drummond, a junior guard from Fairhope, Ala., scored 14 points at Stillman College on Saturday evening. For the year he is averaging 9.7 points and 3.1 rebounds per game while shooting 40.7% (22-54) from the field with 12 assists.
Buchanan, a senior forward from McGill-Toolen Catholic High School in Mobile, rejoined the women's basketball team on Saturday afternoon following the volleyball team's run to the NAIA National Championship Tournament and promptly led the Badgers with 15 rebounds at Stillman College. She also scored 12 points for the seventh double-double outing of her career.
In recognition of this honor, each week's winners of USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week award will receive a T-shirt, water bottle and handy gym bag compliments of the University of South Alabama ROTC.
