The Spring Hill College Department of Athletics has named basketball players Jarrett Calhoun and Sha Sha Buchanan as its USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week for their achievements on the court during the weeks of January 20-26, 2013.
Calhoun, a sophomore point guard from Linden, N.J., scored 31 points in two road games this week. For the season, he is shooting 43.7% (59-135) overall and 42.9% (18-42) from 3-point distance while scoring 9.6 points per game with a team-high 53 total assists.
Buchanan, a senior from Mobile, scored 22 points with 14 rebounds at William Carey and Bethel universities this week. She is scoring 12.0 points and 9.9 rebounds per game this season while shooting 42.6% (40-94) from the floor and 81.6% (40-49) from the free throw line.
In recognition of this honor, each week's winners of USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week award will receive a T-shirt, water bottle and handy gym bag compliments of the University of South Alabama ROTC.
