The Spring Hill College Department of Athletics has named freshmen Wesley Hunter and Jenna Charnock as its USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week for their excellent efforts during the week of March 10-16, 2014.
Hunter, a member of the men's golf team hailing from St. Luke's Episcopal School in Mobile, was the individual champion out of 34 golfers at the Wolf Pack Invitational hosted by Loyola University (La.) at Oak Harbor Golf Course in Slidell, La., with a two-round score of 142 (72, 70, -2) over the 6723-yard, par-72 course.
Charnock, the Badger left fielder from Baker High School in Mobile, had two consecutive three-hit games on Friday and Saturday at the William Carey Invitational in Hattiesburg, Miss., and stole four bases on the week. For the year, she is hitting .263 and leads Spring Hill with 13 stolen bases.
In recognition of this honor, each week's winners of USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week award will receive a T-shirt, water bottle and handy gym bag compliments of the University of South Alabama ROTC.
