TIFFIN, Ohio -- The Independents Collegiate Athletic Association (ICAA) announced on Monday afternoon that Spring Hill College men's basketball player Frederick Gatson received recognition as a 3rd team member of the 2014 All-ICAA Men's Basketball Team.
Gatson, a junior forward from Riverdale, Ga., led the Badgers with 333 total points (11.5 ppg) while also pulling down a team-high 205 rebounds (7.1 rpg). He handed out 63 assists with 18 steals and blocked five shots on the year. Gatson shot 51.4% (133-259) from the floor including 33.3% (15-45) from 3-point distance in 29 games played with 20 starts.
Since 2004, the ICAA has given recognition to schools of independent status at the NCAA DII level. The membership in men's basketball includes Bluefield State, Palm Beach Atlantic, Oakland City, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, Spring Hill, Union and Washington Adventist. All post-season men's basketball awards are chosen by ICAA Director Mike Bond.
