The Spring Hill College men's soccer team took a victory over Crichton College (Tenn.) in Jackson, Miss., on Sunday afternoon and recorded a 2-0 shutout in the process.

Junior co-captain Sean Simpson of Ballwin, Mo., scored both goals for the Badgers.  The first came in the 11th minute off assists by freshmen Cameron Poklemba of Odessa, Fla., and Patrick Hall of Mobile.  Simpson scored his second goal of the game and his sixth of the season at the 47th minute following a series of passes from junior Derek Burr of Town & Country, Mo., and freshman Sean Christie of Metairie, La.

Freshman goalkeeper Cory Bronenkamp of St. Louis, Mo., recorded his second shut out of the year while making nine saves.  Spring Hill out shot the Comets 18-16 and took six corner kicks while allowing just two by Crichton.

Following the match, Head Coach Adam Pearce said, "I was proud of our ability to turnaround less than 18 hours after a tough loss last night (1-0 to Belhaven College) and stay committed to fulfilling our responsibilities as individuals and as a whole."

The Badgers (3-5-2, 0-1) next play Mobile (6-2-1, 1-0) at home on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
