The Spring Hill College women's golf team won the annual Badger Invitational over three other teams at Spring Hill Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday.
As a team, SHC rallied from a one-stroke deficit after the first day to shoot a winning +88 score of 664 (334, 330) to finish 17 shots ahead of 2nd place finisher William Carey University (342, 339, 681, +105).
Individually, senior Avery Kyle of Plano, Texas, won the crown with a card of 158 for a final tally of +14 (80, 78) over a field of 23 golfers across the par-72, 5810-yard course. Senior Katie Callahan of Prairie Village, Kan., finished in 5th place with a +20 score of 164 (85, 79).
Sophomore Alexandria Ryals of Mobile notched a score of 168 with rounds of 83 and 85 (+24) for 6th place. Senior Audrey Dombrowski (86, 98) from St. Louis, Mo., marked a +40 score of 184 and junior Rachel Failla (99, 88) of New Orleans, La., came in at 19th place with a +43 score of 187.
Freshman Mary-Grace Pollet of Baton Rouge, La., rounded out the Badger duffers in 23rd place with a final score of 225 (110, 115, +81).
Spring Hill will next shoot at the 2014 Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Championships on April 20-22 at Lagoon Park Golf Course in Montgomery.
