McKENZIE, Tenn. – The Spring Hill College baseball team rebounded from a Friday night doubleheader loss to salvage an 11-9 win in the third game of a Southern States Athletic Conference series at the Bethel University Wildcats on Saturday afternoon.
The Badgers broke open a 3-3 tie with three runs in the 4th inning, built as much as an 11-5 lead after the 7th frame and withstood two two-run rallies by the Wildcats (21-15, 12-12 SSAC) in the 8th and 9th innings for the win.
Wesley Parrish (3-6) picked up the win in six innings of work with seven hits, four walks and four strikeouts while Blake Chandler took the loss for Bethel in four innings with eight hits, three walks and just one strikeout.
Badger center fielder continued his stellar season with a 3-for-4 outing with three RBI. Second baseman Brian Sims, catcher Roy Moulder, shortstop Brooks Bobinger and third baseman Garrett Webb each had two hits with Bobinger ripping a double.
First baseman Martin Key had three hits with two doubles for the homestanding Wildcats.
Spring Hill (26-20, 14-10 SSAC) will host the University of West Alabama Tigers (23-11) in a non-conference contest at historic Stan Galle Field on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
