In the opening contest, the Hornets (38-15, 18-8 SSAC) used a three-run 4th inning that was highlighted by three consecutive hit batters to erase a 3-0 Badger advantage and then scored the winning run off three more hit batters in the 7th inning.

Badger starter Ryan Stevens went five innings with three hits, three hit batters, a walk and two strikeouts while Johnathan Billings (0-3) took the loss in two innings of relief with a hit, three hit batters, no walks and a strikeout.

Blake Barrow (3-1) was the winner for Southern Poly in just 1/3 of an inning and Brantley Burton collected his seventh save of the year with one inning of work, a hit, and a strikeout.

Southern Poly rallied for five runs off five hits in the 4th inning of the second game en route to a 7-2 victory and a three-game series sweep of the Badgers.

SHC starter Wesley Parrish (3-7) lasted five innings with eight hits, a walk and a strikeout as Forrest Garrett (3-1) was the winner in six innings with three walks and eight strikeouts.

For the Badgers at the plate, second baseman Brian Sims, first baseman Kyle Freeman, right fielder Brian Solliday and third baseman Garrett Webb each had two hits on the day with Eads slapping a double in Game Two. SPSU first baseman Tyler Roach was 4-for-7 with a double and four RBI in the twin bill.
